Healthy Lives has partnered with other health systems to expand this innovative program across the country.
Baptist Health Care, based in Pensacola, Fl., is a community-owned, not-for-profit healthcare organization committed to improving the quality of life for people and communities in northwest Florida and south Alabama. With more than 6,000 employees and employed physicians, Baptist Health Care is the largest non-governmental employer in northwest Florida.
In order to carry out BHC’s commitment to its employees and the surrounding community Baptist Health Care launched the Healthy Lives program in 2012. Darlene Stone, Vice President of Human Resources for BHC says, “Baptist Health Care was excited to form such a valuable partner with Franciscan Health and Wellness on the Healthy Lives program. This very important initiative is improving the health of not only our own team members and dependents but also improving the health of our community through our employer strategy. In healthcare, we must have the competencies to manage the health of a population. The unique and distinctive elements of the Healthy Lives program positioned our health system to meet this need at an accelerated pace. With over 90% participation in our program, we expect to see dramatic results year one in our claims expense but more importantly in the improvement of the health and well-being of those we serve.”

St. Dominic Health Services, Inc. (St. Dominic’s), based out of Jackson, Miss., is a Catholic non-profit health system sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, Illinois. St. Dominic Health Services, Inc. is the parent company for a large group of subsidiary organizations and programs dedicated to the same mission of Christian healing. St. Dominic’s launched the Healthy Lives program for its employees and their families in October 2013 as part of its current employee wellness program. St. Dominic’s is dedicated to helping its team of caregivers lead healthy lives in an effort to fulfill its Christian healing ministry.
